After many years of planning, the area’s premier
Children’s Hospital added 14,920 square feet of new critical care
space and renovating another 7,680 square feet of existing area. The
construction consists of the addition of an additional level on top
of an existing hospital environment. The new area was enclosed and
put under roof prior to removal of the existing roof requiring
temporary extension of mechanical systems by Delcard Associates. Two
large rooftop air handlers and several new exhaust fans were set on
the new roof level. A new variable volume duct system was installed
at the new service level, which also houses new steam, hot water
heating, chilled water, domestic water, medical gas, and plumbing
venting systems serving the new CICU and NICU patient care suites
below. |
